Emergency Drill Scheduled for First Week of School

Parents, during the first week of school, all schools will hold a Code Red - Lock Down drill.  This is the only drill that will be announced as a drill for the school year.  For the rest of the school year, schools will not announce drills ahead of time.  It's important to "perform as you practice" and students and staff will not be told whether or not an event is a drill when it occurs. Unplanned drills are a more accurate representation of our level of preparedness.

Immediately after a drill, parents will be notified using Skylert and the district website.

First Day of School Photo Contest

In honor of the new school year, we're looking for photos of your children, tweens and teens on their first day of school. Submit a picture of your child for the chance to win a pencil set with your child's school name!

For more info click here.

Attention Hailey Students and Parents: A note from the BCRD

The Blaine County Recreation District Wood River Trail remains under construction and there are currently several sections in Hailey closed to all users. Those sections include Myrtle St. to Ohio Gulch Rd., between Cemetery Rd. and Bullion St. and a small section between Bullion St. and Myrtle St.

As you choose your routes to school on your bike or by walking, please be aware of these closures. Visit bcrd.org or contact Janelle Conners at 578-5453 for more information and updates about the Wood River Trail Reconstruction Project.

Wood River Middle School Express Bus

The school district is testing a pilot project this fall at the Middle School. Routes will run in the morning as they have in the past. In the afternoon, there will be an Express Bus to Ketchum. This bus will leave directly from the Middle School and go North to Ketchum.

The only stops along the way at this time will be:

East Fork Road,

St. Lukes Hospital,

Sturto's in Ketchum,

Saddle Road,

and at the YMCA.

Because this is a pilot project, only the first 50 students will be allowed on this bus. Others not able to get on the bus will be able to ride the regular buses going North. Some regular buses have changed the location of their stops, so if you live North of Hailey, please check the schedule carefully.
