Latin teacher Jane Ulrich said, "This year seven of the Latin I students scored high enough to earn medals and certificates. At the Cum Laude level the students are: Kristian Whittaker, Carlos Gonzalez, and Amanda Passey. At the Magna Cum Laude level: Evan Telford, Cade Schott and Xavier Haemmerle. Students Receive Nutrition Boost During Testing
Students at Wood River Middle School received a nutritional boost before taking the SBAC field test, thanks to the Idaho Dairy Council and United Dairymen of Idaho. For the third consecutive year, the Idaho Dairy Council provided string cheese to each student for each test.
Technology paraprofessional Catherine Fieguth applied to the program and said that the cheese makes all the difference for the students, "The students really love getting the cheese sticks. It helps them realize that we care about their test performance. We understand that some students come to school without having any breakfast or they skip lunch and this is just a small way of making sure they have a little something to help them on their exams."
