Community Invited to Serve on Financial Advisory Committee and Wellness Committee

The Blaine County School District Board of Trustees invites residents of the Blaine County School District community to apply to participate in the Financial Advisory Committee and Wellness Committee.

The Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) is designed to act as an advisory committee to the Board regarding the district's financial interests and operations and assist in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities. The district also invites residents to serve on the Wellness Committee.  The Wellness Committee shall serve as an advisory committee, providing guidance to the Board regarding student health issues and possible revisions, improvements, monitoring, and implementation of the Wellness Policy. Public Invited to Observe Negotiations

Negotiations between the Blaine County School District and the Blaine County Education Association will occur at the District Office, 118 W. Bullion, Hailey, on Thursday, May 1, Friday, May 2, Thursday, May 8, and Friday, May 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

By Idaho law, the public is welcome to observe the negotiations.  Comments from the public are not allowed.

Interest based bargaining is used in BCSD/BCEA negotiations.  Interest based bargaining is a process that enables traditional negotiators to become joint problem-solvers. It assumes that mutual gain is possible, that solutions which satisfy mutual interests are more durable, that the parties should help each other achieve a positive result.

Find out more about interest based bargaining here.
