Find Out About Real-World Math

How do students demonstrate their knowledge of symmetry, rotation, reflection and translation in pre-algebra?  Wood River Middle School teachers Sharon Wyeth and Mike Stemp taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students how to design quilt squares.  The resulting quilt squares will be donated to a quilt through the Sun Valley Fabric Granary.  Read more here.

Exciting things are happening for the VOICES II program. Recently they received an accolade from the Blaine County School Board of Trustees. Read more here.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance developed more than 100 years ago by American universities and secondary schools, and designed primarily to distinguish schools adhering to a set of educational standards.  The accreditation process is also known in terms of its ability to effectively drive student performance and continuous improvement in education.   The process is rigorous and thorough.

Last year Silver Creek School received accreditation and this year Carey School is renewing its accreditation. All secondary schools in the Blaine County School District are accredited, which is required of all public secondary schools in the state of Idaho. Read more here.
