Superintendent Search Open Forums
The Blaine County School District Board of Trustees is seeking community input as it selects a new superintendent. The community can help by completing an online survey and/or attending an open forum to help identify the most important characteristics for a new superintendent. The forums are scheduled for the following dates and times: - Monday, February 3, 8:15-9:15 a.m. Wood River YMCA
- Monday, February 3, 6:00-7:00 p.m. Community Campus
- Tuesday, February 4, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Community Campus
- Tuesday, February 4, 1:00-2:00 p.m. Community Campus

Students Learn About Compassion
Starting this week, thousands of students will have the opportunity to learn about compassion and reflect on acts of kindness. For close to thirty years Footlight Dance Company has provided Blaine County students with a free professional educational dance tour at the end of January. This year the program will be called, "Compassion / Weaving Community 2014". Blaine County School District is a proud partner. Read more here.

Robotics Encourages Curiosity, Innovation and Problem Solving
Find out about the 4-12th grade robotics program called Blaine County Bots. Listen to students talk about their passion for robotics, the things they learn, and their plans for the future. To find out more, talk to your child's tech teacher about getting involved.

Students and Parents Invited to Learn about Healthy Behaviors
The Blaine County School District partners with the Blaine County Drug Coalition in an effort to promote healthy choices and educate students about the risks associated with underage drinking and drugs. As a district we understand and value the need for collaboration with other organizations in finding a solution to keep our students safe from underage drinking and drugs. We encourage parents and students to attend these meetings.

Thank You Sun Valley!
Read about a four-week program that brings Hemingway Elementary students to Sun Valley to skate for free on Thursday afternoons. Sun Valley Company generously donates ice time, skates and helmets. The Sun Valley Figure Skating Club arranges to have a few of their amazing pros on the ice during the session to offer tips, lessons and inspiration. The local Sun Valley Suns hockey team always has a few players on skates, volunteering their time to work with students interested in hockey.
