Superintendent Search Begins - Public Invited to Provide Feedback on the Selection of Search Firm
Public Meeting Thursday, December 12, 4:30-7:30 p.m., refreshments served Minnie Moore Room, Community Campus On Thursday, December 12 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Minnie Moore room at the Community Campus, the Board will interview final search firms for the Superintendent search in an open meeting and solicit feedback from the public. Afterwards, in a closed executive meeting, the Board will select a search firm to conduct the Superintendent search. Read more here.

Senior Project Day - Panelists Still Needed

Wednesday, December 18, Wood River High School Wood River High School Senior Project Day will take place at Wood River High School. New this year, Silver Creek High School and Wood River High School will jointly present Senior Projects. The public is welcome to come to a Community Walk-Through in the morning. In the afternoon, panelists will evaluate senior presentations. Volunteers are still needed to serve as panelists. To register as a panelist, click here. - 9:00-11:00 am: Community Walk-Through - All community members are invited to come see the work of seniors from Silver Creek and Wood River High Schools. Projects will be displayed in the WRHS cafeteria and gymnasium, and students will be available to answer questions regarding their project.
- 12:00-12:45 pm: Optional complimentary luncheon for panelists in the Wood River High School Library
- 12:45-1:45 pm: Optional overview/practice session for panelists in WRHS's Distance Learning Lab
- 1:45-3:30 pm: Student presentations at SCHS and WRHS - Doors lock at 2 pm and panelists watch up to three presentations in their assigned rooms
- 3:30-4:00 pm: Optional celebratory receptions in Wood River High School Library and at Silver Creek High School for all participants and attendees

Hour of Code
Parents, ask your child if they learned about computer coding today! All eight schools in the district participated in the national Hour of Code. Some schools will continue the projects through this week. Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code" and show that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, a creator, an innovator. From no tech to high tech, various projects will introduce students to computer science. Watch this video to find out more.

Drama Students Excel
The Wood River High School Drama Department participated in District IV Drama competitions recently, receiving a 3rd place sweepstakes trophy for the second year in a row. Read more here.

Teachers Create Scholarship Fund
Blaine County School District high school seniors who participated in the Dual Immersion program can now apply for scholarship funds through the Blaine County Education Foundation to help support their higher education goals. Raul Vandenberg (pictured above with students) a Wood River Middle School Dual Immersion Social Studies Teacher, came forth with the idea to start a scholarship for Dual Immersion graduates who have demonstrated outstanding performance in the program during their public school career.
