Bellevue Students Participate in National Cup Stacking Day

Bellevue Elementary students participated in National Cup Stacking Day. The event promotes spatial recognition, agility, critical thinking, problem-solving and strategizing as students learn to stack cups in various patterns as quickly as possible.

Individual students and groups of students learn together in this fun annual event. Parents volunteered and learned alongside their students. Several other schools in the district held cup-stacking competitions as well.

Board Begins Superintendent Search

BCSD Board Chairman
Paul Bates

Also at the regular monthly meeting of the Blaine County School District Board of Trustees last week, the Board announced plans for the Superintendent search process.  "We want an inclusive, professional, transparent search that attracts the best candidates from across the state and country," said Board Chairman Paul Bates.  To that end, the Board will solicit proposals from executive search firms and, with community input, hire an executive search firm to manage the Superintendent search.

There are three major opportunities for the public to be involved: 1) during the selection of an executive search firm in an open Board meeting, 2) identifying characteristics of a future Superintendent and attributes of the community in order to attract qualified candidates, and 3) in the final selection process of Superintendent candidates.  Read more here

IB staff representatives met with school administrators, teachers, students and parents to evaluate the IB program at each of the schools.  IB staff will gather information and send it to the IB office in Geneva, Switzerland. The office in Geneva will send a report to each principal in about six months that will contain commendations and recommendations.
