Students Give Back to the Community

Students volunteer at Hunger Coalition's Hope Garden

5th grade students from Bellevue Elementary's Cub Council volunteered at the Hunger Coalition's Hope Garden last week.

Cub Council adviser and technology teacher Krista Jones said, "The kids worked for two hours for the Hunger Coalition at the Hope Garden.  The kids got down and dirty and had tons of fun doing hard work to help out our community.  They shoveled, raked, hoed, hauled soil and compost, planted garlic and flower bulbs and moved and replaced irrigation lines for the new beds they prepped.  They were tired and sore by the end but we've been asked to come back.  So in the spring we'll plant seeds and see the sprouts from the bulbs they planted this fall."

Learn About the New Website

What is Edline?
Edline is the vendor name of the new website.  The Technology Department selected Edline to host and provide the new website.  Edline is part of Blackboard, which is a Learning Management System used by schools, colleges and universities across the country.  Edline is the brand name for the new website launched last week.

What is the difference between the new website and Skyward?

The new website is not the same as Skyward.  Skyward is a student and school database management system used to track attendance, grades, student information and more.  For a side-by-side comparison of Skyward and the new website, click here.

How does a login enhance the new website?

Parents and students will have login's that allow them to view customized information specific to their classes and schedules. A login is not necessary to view the website, but a login adds specific information for parents and students.

How do I login?

Each school is in the process of sending parent activation codes.  If you have not received a parent activation code, you will soon!  Find out more here.

Why isn't the login for Skyward and new website the same?

Skyward has different password requirements than the new website.

Why doesn't my old bookmark work?

Parents and patrons who bookmarked the old site need to update their bookmarks.

Where do I find Accelerated Reader and Renaissance Learning for students and parents?
This link may also be found on the main page or on the Media Center websites for each school.

Why did the district need a new website?

The old website was created by a programmer on staff who no longer works for the district.  No one on staff could fix the old website; maintaining the old site was challenging.  The old website was hosted on district servers and the technology department needed that server space for other technology needs.  The design and function of the website was also outdated.
