WRMS Student Recognized in National Talent Search: Meet a Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation Student Athlete
Cooper Dart, a student at Wood River Middle School, was honored as one of the brightest middle school students worldwide at a national medal ceremony sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) in Baltimore, Maryland. See full press release here. Cooper is on the Alpine Team with the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation.
When asked about Wood River Middle School, Cooper said, "I like how WRMS works with my complicated skiing schedule, helping me become the best skier and student that I can. I also like the different types of electives I've gotten to take, like band, leadership, and science enrichment. All the teachers are great about helping me stay on top of my work while away from school for ski training and races. Skiing, of course, can make school a challenge. Balancing everything can be hard, and sometimes I fall a little behind." Congratulations Cooper.

Hailey Elementary Wins State Recycle Bowl
Hailey Elementary School has been declared the Idaho winner of "Recycle-Bowl," a nationwide recycling competition for elementary-, middle- and high-school students.
First place in Idaho went to Hailey Elementary School, where students recycled 5 pounds of waste per child, earning $1,000 in prize money for the school. If all students in America recycled at the rate of this year's Recycle-Bowl competitors, approximately 2.4 million tons of material would be diverted annually from landfills. That would be the weight of 201,135 school buses.
