Come meet the Blaine County School District Leadership Team. Administrators and Board of Trustees are available the first Wednesday of every month from 8:00-9:00 a.m. at various coffee shops throughout Blaine County. These informal visits are a chance for you to meet administrators and Board of Trustees to discuss anything related to Blaine County schools. There is no agenda or presentation. Just bring your questions and bring your friends. Everyone is welcome.

Understanding behavior and developmental stages can help parents gain patience, create a healthier home environment, and become better equipped to communicate, support, set boundaries and set a child up for success.

Teacher Survey
The Teacher Survey will open this week and close on Monday, February 11. Parents with current email a dresses in Skyward will receive an invitation to complete a survey about each teacher who serves their child. This includes homeroom teachers, specialists, and social workers. If parents do not have access to email, they may request paper surveys at the front desk of their school. the survey was designed by teachers from the Blaine County Education Association and administrators from the Blaine County School District. The survey is conducted by an independent third party, K12 Insight, and all answers are confidential. The intent is to receive constructive feedback that will improve the educational outcomes for children.

Common Core State Standards
How will Common Core State Standards change a teacher's practice? How will CCSS help students in the long run? What resources exist for parents to learn more about CCSS?
Meet two math and science teachers from Carey School and read how Common Core State Standards impact their teaching and their students. James Morey teaches 7th grade math, 8th grade math, 7th grade life science, Fundamental Algebra, Construction Math, Anatomy and Physiology. Liz Young teacher Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, College Tri/Algebra, Calculus, and Personal Finance. |
Through the Idaho Commission on the Arts' Arts Powered Schools grants, art teachers Joni Cashman and Jennifer Mecham are hosting a printmaker for a week-long residence at each of their schools.
