Public Invited to Holiday Concerts
Looking for some holiday cheer this season? Come to a holiday concert and see our students shine! All of our concerts are free and open to the public. We would love to see you. And if you are patron without children in the school, please introduce yourself to the principal. We would love to welcome you to our schools. Students Meet Scientist
How do scientists use tools to gather data? Sand Scott's 5th grade class at Hemingway Elementary learned about studies of sage grouse and how audio and video is used for sage grouse research. Dr. Gail Petrecelli from the University of California, Davis, visited the class recently.

Staff Speak on Digital Citizenship and Student Creates Poster: Your Digital Footprint
Wood River High School librarian Geraldine Maniere and English teacher Kari Haugen presented at the 2012 Internet Librarian conference recently. Maniere says, "As we increase the use of varied technology in the classroom we have not only the opportunity but the responsibility to help our students navigate in an appropriate and safe manner. Award-Winning Drama Department
The Wood River High School Drama department earned a 3rd place sweepstakes trophy in Twin Falls at the District IV Drama tournament. This is the first district drama placing for Wood River since Tim Neville's state championship team in 1985. The Wood River HS Drama Department recently concluded the Idaho High School Activities Association sanction competitive year by competing at state drama at Century HS in Pocatello, ID. Read more here

Partner Highlight: Sun Valley Resort
Did you know that the Sun Valley Resort does amazing things for our students and staff? We are grateful to Sun Valley Company for their generosity and support of the Blaine County School District. Now their retail partners are doing one more fantastic thing that can benefit students and staff with the Share the Spirit campaign. Panache, Brass Ranch, The Gift Shop and Pete Lane's on the Sun Valley mall will be joining forces for Share the Spirit. If you shop at these participating stores December 7-9, they will donate 10% of their sales to the local school of your choice. Thank you Sun Valley and Sun Valley merchants!
