In 1621, the Pilgrims, who immigrated to the United States just one year earlier, celebrated their first corn harvest in what is known as the first ever Thanksgiving.  The feast was attended by 53 Pilgrims and 90 Native Americans and lasted three days!

Certainly, the Pilgrims and Native Americans had a lot to be thankful for.
