Green Cards Still Available for Spouses and Children of Lawful Permanent Residents

Green Cards Available Through September 30 ... and October Brings More Good News!

Greetings!

If you missed our last newsletter, then you may have missed the exciting news that green cards are available NOW for spouses and children of lawful permanent residents.  They remain available through September 30, 2013.

Potentially hundreds of thousands of people are taking advantage of the fact that the F-2A category for spouses and children of lawful permanent residents has been "current" in August and September.

And today the Department of State published its October visa bulletin, which, as expected, shows a cut-off date in the F-2A category, meaning in October green cards will no longer be immediately available.

But the news for October isn't all bad!

The F-2A cut-off date in October is September 8, 2013, which means people whose F-2A petitions were filed before that date will still be able to file for green cards in October.

It also means that people who start the I-130 process in October will likely be able to file for green cards soon, as long as the visa bulletin moves forward each month at a moderate pace.
