Golf Tip of the Month One of the most important things a golfer must do in order to play his/her best golf day in and day out is to adapt to the constantly changing conditions of a golf course. As golfers continue to play rounds throughout the fall it is important to realize the arrival of cooler weather, how it will affect our game, and the steps we can take avoid succumbing to its powers and playing poorly.
Cold weather wants to shrink the blood vessels reducing blood flow to the muscles, hence, making our swings shorter and less fluid, reducing the length of our shots. But the good news is we can take steps to avoid the cold: 1) Take 15 minutes and stretch out your muscles - and continue to stretch and move during the round. (* a few jumping jacks will also get your body moving!) 2) Dress warm - toque, winter gloves, undershirt and a sweater! 3) Eat well before you play - food like pasta will continue to burn as you play.
Stay warm, dry & enjoy your round!
