| Date Correction for Jeannie Daniels Band/WSCA Dance |
Once again, the fabulous Jeannie Daniels Band has offered to play a fundraiser dance for us. The dance is Saturday, January 18.
Come join us and your community at the VFW Hall, 238 Deer Street in downtown Portsmouth. The Jeannie Daniels Band is well known in the area for their great dance music--rock, R&B, motown, soul, funk, with a dash of swing.
The Portsmouth VFW Hall has the best dance floor in the area and the Jeannie Daniels Band always fills it!
Tickets are available at the door for $10 or free if you join as a new Portsmouth Community Radio member. That's Saturday night, January 18. Doors open at 7:30 and the band plays from 8:00 to midnight. This is a 21+ event.

Module 1 & 2 Training Scheduled for January 16
|
|
If you have an interest in news, music, radio engineering, live remote broadcast engineering, show production or public affairs programming, WSCA wants you to get radio-active. We also have many opportunities for volunteers in off-air roles including marketing, fundraising, administration, IT, social media and new music review and management. The first step for all those wanting to get involved with WSCA is to attend a Module 1, which is the introduction to the station. After completion of Module 1, you will be ready to volunteer for many of the off-air and behind-the-scenes roles at WSCA. For those who want to continue on to do show production, become an on-air DJ/show host or get involved with more technical roles at WSCA, Module 2 will cover station and FCC policies. Module 3 covers operation of the equipment in studios A and B.
The next Module 1 and 2 training sessions will be offered on January 16, with Module 1 training from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by Module 2 training from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Training sessions are held at the WSCA studios at 909 Islington Street. To register, email training@wscafm.org or call 603-430-9722. See our website for more information on WSCA volunteer opportunities and how to become an on-air show host.
