| DJ/Volunteer Training at WSCA |
If you have an interest in music, news, radio engineering, live remote broadcast engineering, show production, or public affairs programming, WSCA wants you to get radio-active. We also have many opportunities for volunteers in off-air roles including marketing, fundraising, administration, IT, social media, and new music review and management. The first step for all those wanting to get involved with WSCA is to attend a Module 1 which is the introduction to the station. After completion of Module 1, you will be ready to volunteer for many of the off-air and behind-the-scenes roles at WSCA. For those who want to continue on to do show production, become an on-air DJ/show host, or get involved with more technical roles at WSCA, Module 2 will cover station and FCC Policies. Module 3 covers operation of the equipment in studios A and B.
The next Module 1 and 2 training sessions will be offered on Monday, August 26th with Module 1 training from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by Module 2 training from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Module 3 training will be held on Monday, September 9th from 6 to 8 p.m.
Training sessions are held at the WSCA studios at 909 Islington Street. To register, email training@wscafm.org or call 603-430-9722. See our website for more information on WSCA volunteer opportunities and how to become an on-air show host.

Just a reminder, there are still some seats available for this show. Jen Chapin, daughter of legendary singer/songwriter Harry Chapin, will perform at Red & Shorty's in Dover.
Jen Chapin will be performing tunes from her critically acclaimed album, Reckoning, at Red & Shorty's on Friday, August 23rd at 8:00 p.m. Jen, on lead vocals and guitar, will be accompanied by her virtuosic Grammy-nominated acoustic bassist/husband Stephan Crump, with Jamie Fox on guitar.
Red & Shorty's is a new non-profit house concert series hosted by Joe and Lorna Simes, located at 4 Paul St. in Dover, NH. The couple has built a listening room in their home, complete with stage and sound system, dedicated to presenting live music from around the world. Another Great Show and Benefit for WSCA!
|
Shades of Rust, featuring Tom Schena, is launching their first CD at The Music Hall Loft on September 7th with Tom Schena performing an acoustic set for long-time fans. The album was recorded before a live audience at 1130 ft. Studio with Chris Chase in Rollinsford, NH.
Shades of Rust is Tom Schena's full-bodied realization that good things permeate out of people that genuinely care about offering something worth producing. Out of the attitude that good things can, and will come to good people. The uncertainty of success always lingers in any group of musicians' lives, but the assurance of crafting and conspiring over good music is very evident in this Shade of Rust. That is a certainty.
Shades of Rust is a 4-piece soul rock band from New England that creates music ranging from acoustic ballads to power rock anthems about the power of freedom and love to rise above the human condition. To buy tickets and see the video, click here! Support this terrific band and WSCA!
