Portsmouth Community Radio Adds New Board Members
| |
Portsmouth Community Radio is excited to welcome five new members to the station's Board of Trustees. Each of the new Board members has generously offered to look at various functions of the station and make suggestions for improvements.
Dick Rozek comes to the Portsmouth Community Radio Board of Trustees with a vast and varied background in broadcasting. Dick will be looking at ways to improve the station's underwriting.
Rick Pickford is an advertising agency creative director and was previously involved with Portsmouth Community Radio, helping with the station's "Community Connections" marketing plan. His focus will be on developing a new marketing plan.
Ruth Mott, an executive coach, among other things, won an award from the Public Broadcasting Service for producing one of the best pledge drives in the country. Guess where her focus will be?
Brad Hughes is a former CPA and business manager. Brad will be reviewing financial procedures and making suggestions for improvement.
Tyler Chamberlain works as a local Realtor and has had previous experience with major logistics and organization tasks. He will be looking at organizational issues, policies, and procedures.
Please join us in welcoming Dick, Rick, Ruth, Brad, and Tyler to Portsmouth Community Radio's Board of Trustees!

WSCA to Hold Volunteer/DJ Training Sessions
|
Are you interested in getting involved as a radio show host or volunteer at Portsmouth Community Radio? Do you have an interest in news, radio engineering, live music performance engineering, music show production, or public affairs programming? Or, are you interested in an off-air role at the station, such as marketing, fund-raising, administration, IT, social media, or music acquisition, review, and management?
The first step in getting involved with Portsmouth Community Radio is to attend a two-hour Module 1 Station Introduction training session. After completion of the Module 1 training, you will be ready to volunteer for many of the off-air and behind-the-scenes roles at the station. You can also continue on with further training modules as required if you are interested in being an on-air show host or helping out with other more technical roles at the station.
The next Module 1 training session is scheduled for Monday, October 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
All training sessions will be held at WSCA's 909 Islington Street, Portsmouth, studios. Trainees must pre-register for a training session by emailing training@wscafm.org.
For more information on the Portsmouth Community Radio training program and the requirements to be an on-air show host, go to www.wscafm.org or email training@wscafm.org.
