'Rutgers Giving Day' Takes Place Today!
This message from President Barchi was emailed today: "I am pleased this morning to help kick off our second annual Rutgers Giving Day, the day the University community comes together in the spirit of giving in support of all things scarlet.
"During last year's inaugural event, we saw thousands of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends from around the world take part and demonstrate their pride in Rutgers."
This new tradition helps support vital programs of the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. How can you participate? Just go to the Giving Day website anytime up until 11:59 p.m. today (November 29) and click on the Give Now icon, select RU-New Brunswick, then select School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. You will see three fund options: Academic Excellence, Educational Assistance, and Scholarship/Fellowship. Or if you have specific fund to which you would like to donate, scroll to the bottom of the school list and select Other at RU-New Brunswick; then name an existing favorite fund. You can connect to social media challenges and network with your friends using #RUGivingDay. Join the fun today -- Tuesday, November 29! And if you can't make it today, you can still support the School at makeagift.rutgers.edu.

In other honors, Randy Gaugler, professor in the Department of Entomology and director of the Center for Vector Biology, was awarded the 2017 Medal of Honor from the American Mosquito Control Association for his work and leadership in the field of managing mosquitoes.
