Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau Launches Emerging Leaders Program

Program Will Develop Next Generation of

Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Industry Advocates

Washington D.C.- The Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau today introduced its inaugural Emerging Leaders Program for 2015-2016. Applications are currently available online. The program will accept 10 participants who are professionals in the crop insurance industry who seek to increase their knowledge and hands-on experience with key crop insurance policy issues. CIRB Emerging Leaders will participate in networking events, advocacy training, and networking opportunities.

"The Emerging Leaders Program will be invaluable for those who seek leadership opportunities in the crop insurance and reinsurance industry," said CIRB Chair Sheri Bane.  "This program not only will benefit the industry as a whole but will also equip participants with the tools they need to be successful leaders in their individual organization."

Applications and additional details are now available online at  www.cropinsurance.org/leaders. All applicants must be nominated by a current CIRB member. Applications are due by July 31.

The 2015-2016 class will be announced in August. Participants will attend CIRB's Fall meeting in Washington, D.C. This event will include the opportunity for participants to attend advocacy training and build relationships with leaders on Capitol Hill.

The 10-month program includes several networking and educational experience around the country. It also will give participants access to policy updates and additional resources from CIRB, allowing participants to expand their knowledge of top issues.
