Welcome to the September Issue of The BAC Bulletin & DA News!

As much as we love flying for pleasure, there are times we also must travel for business. This issue is dedicated to business travel. We share the results of Executive Travel magazine’s 2013 Leading Edge Awards of the best in hotels, rental car companies and airlines. Plus we share a few new reports on the state of business travel.

BAC is proud to host Preventing Fuel Starvation, Fuel Exhaustion and Fuel Mis-Management Accidents, Sunday, September 23 at 7pm. Presented by the FAA Safety Team's Jim Adams & Sandy Sanderson. Buffet dinner to follow. Read more about this event. And don’t forget our Casual BBQ on Saturday, September 21 from 12pm – 4pm, weather permitting. We hope to see you there!

Finally, to keep up to date on what’s going on with all of the recent issues, make sure you "like" our Facebook page and help your colleagues stay in the know by sharing our posts with your friends.

Safe flying!

Call to Action! In a notice issued by AAAE.org on Friday, there is increased need to put pressure on Congress to vote to fund the FAA contract towers, which are currently funded only through September 30, 2013. Although there is funding available through fiscal year 2014, it is highly unlikely that Congress will finish the appropriations bill by the end of Sept. Therefore, its important that the DOT/FAA finds the funds to keep the towers open between September 30 and whenever the 2014 is completed and signed by the President.
