Welcome to the June Issue of The BAC Bulletin & DA News!

It’s been a controversial few months for the aviation industry, but regional FBOs and airports can breathe a temporary sigh of relief: the DOT announced that 149 air traffic control towers scheduled to be closed will remain open, at least through September.

We are happy to announce that Danbury Municipal Airport’s tower is one of the 149 that will stay open, and we are determined to work with Connecticut lawmakers and aviation officials to keep it open permanently. We strongly encourage you to reach out to your state’s legislators and aviation officials in this matter of extreme safety and importance.

In this issue of the BAC Bulletin, we go into detail about the tower furlough freeze, and on a lighter note, we share a summer 2013 event calendar of airshows, fly-ins and aircraft events happening throughout the North East.

Also to know: The IRS informed the NATA that they will suspend any potential assessments until new guidance on the Federal Excise Tax for aircraft management companies is developed. Read the press release for details.

Finally, to keep up to date on what’s going on with all of the recent issues, make sure you "like" our Facebook page and help your colleagues stay in the know by sharing our posts with your friends.

Safe flying!
