CHICAGO (April 8, 2014) - Remodelers, contractors and real estate fans of A&E's hit series Flipping Boston will see the many benefits of durable, beautiful James Hardie Building Products fiber cement siding this spring as the exterior products are used in a complete home renovation in Medford, Mass. James Hardie's Complete Exterior™ solution for the home located north of Boston will be highlighted on Episode 6 of A&E's third season of Flipping Boston, at 12:00 PM EDT, Saturday, April 12. Season 3 of Flipping Boston premiered March 1.
James Hardie Cobblestone HardiePlank® Select Cedarmill© lap siding, Artic White HardieTrim® boards, Artic White vented HardieSoffit® panels, and HardieWrap® weather barrier were selected to revamp the home. The siding products feature the company's ColorPlus® Technology, an advanced coating formula baked on for maximum durability and longer-lasting beauty. The siding is also Engineered for Climate® and will provide the refurbished home with a durable facade engineered to stand up to the seasonal East Coast weather conditions better than vinyl, wood-based, or other fiber cement siding brands.
"We are proud the Flipping Boston team chose James Hardie siding materials and we believe the work done on this unique home will stand the test of time in a traditional neighborhood," said John Dybsky, Senior Marketing Manager, James Hardie. "The classic look of our siding will fit with the strong character and deep history of the area. James Hardie's history reaches back 125 years and our continued commitment to innovation enables our builders and contractors to provide a more durable and diverse portfolio of products to their customers."
The two-family home is part of the Abandoned Housing Initiative, a Massachusetts Attorney General's program that encourages contractors and developers to flip abandoned homes and hire local contractors, builders and suppliers for the project. Originally built in 1900, the home sits immediately across the street from an elementary school. When the Flipping Boston team began work on the home, the existing siding was cracked, warped and chipped. When the renovation is complete, the home will be sold at public auction and the sale will pay back the costs to the city and the contractors for the renovation.
