All I teach is Loving Kindness
                    - The Very Venerable T.T. Thích Minh Nhat

Thich Minh Nhat
I read a quote that I loved, which got me thinking that it touched on Loving Kindness.

The quote was,

"It's nice to be important,  but it's more important

to be be nice."

How many times in our lives can we remember back to a time when somebody was nice to us and we never forgot that kind act?

Being nice is part of Loving Kindness and compassion.

The Reverend Jesse Jackson was asked once about the subject of caring and being nice and what it meant to him. He said it reminded him never to look down on somebody unless you are helping him get up.

Being nice to others involves our speech. The Buddha said, "The tongue is like a sharp knife. It can destroy without shedding blood."

It only takes seconds to open profound wounds in others, including those we love.  Yet, it takes many years to heal those wounds.

.Always remember that people may forget what you have  said or done  but never how you made them feel.

Let this be a part of your Practice as you walk the Path of the Buddha.
