Christmastime is here! This is the last time you'll be hearing from me in 2012, as we are planning on closing the office for two weeks to give our team some well-deserved time off to spend with their families. But of course...the show must go on! This week's show is full of incredible music to put you in the holiday spirit, and we have two shows that reflect on a few of our most popular segments of the year. Featuring...
Tracy Lawrence is doing everything he can to help feed those in need this holiday season. He created his 'Mission Possible' program to collect turkeys and fry them up at the Nashville Rescue Mission to provide a special meal for the homeless. We had a chance to catch up with Tracy and check out the impressive lineup of frying stations downtown. Join Kelly here with more.
The Christmas holiday is one that countless people around the world are able to enjoy, but for many children living in poverty, it's not so special. The Christmas For Kids program was created to help bring a little holiday cheer to children all over Nashville, and Charlie Daniels has jumped in with his full support. We headed over to the Ryman Auditorium for his eleventh annual show to raise money for the organization. Check it out here.
The guys in Livewire have reason to celebrate this holiday season with the recent release of 'Livin.' They first came onto the national scene as a finalist in the 2009 Colgate Country Showdown, and released a self-titled EP in June of last year. With the new 'Livin' project, we've seen how much they've grown together as a group, and Kelly Lynn caught up with them to hear all about their new music. See what Livewire is all about right here. |
