Your gateway to relief from chronic pain and limited mobility!
April 18, 2013
Greetings!
Happy earth Day
M'elleYesterday I was lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time outside. The sky was blue, the sun was warm. I was able to spend some time in the garden clearing last year's old, dead growth to make way for new. I hope you have been able to get out and enjoy the better weather.

Healthy Tip: Try Earthing For Earth Day
Headshot 3
Earth Day is coming April 22. It's a good time to renew our connection with Mother Earth. One of the latest trends in natural health is a practice called "earthing". or being outside in bare feet for about 30 minutes a day. The theory is that as we walk on the earth in bare feet, and allow ourselves to connect with the earth's bio-electric field. The earth's free electrons can then neutralize the free radicals in our bodies. Free radicals are positively charged particles present in our bodies which are responsible for inflammation and oxidative stress. Interaction with negatively charged electrons on the earth's surface through the soles of our feet neutralizes the free radicals decreasing the amount of inflammation. When checking out earthing on line, most of the sites offered various items for sale, like specialized sheets or mats, so I remain a bit skeptical, but taking the time to get outside, wiggling toes in the dirt, grass or sand has always been a stress reducer for many people. Placebo effect? Possibly, but it's a no-cost way to lower stress and just may have some other health benefits.  Click Here to read a little more about the theory behind earthing.

About MFR
MFR (Myofascial Release) is a form of structural bodywork which combines stretching and pressure to the fascia (connective tissue) and muscles to relieve chronic pain and tension, and allow the muscles to return to their correct position, length and function.  This is very slow-paced work, often accompanied by a release of stored memories and emotions. MFR can help promote relaxation and reduce stress. Removing fascial restrictions also aides the body to function at peek efficiency Along with treatments, patients will learn valuable self-treatment techniques and a better sense of being "in" their bodies to help them maintain progress between sessions and take more control of their own good health.  Link
