Warmer sunny days are here. I hope you are able to get out and enjoy the changes. There is a "newness" to spring that always triggers a desire for a fresh start for me. Life has been a little chaotic here and I for one have not been as diligent as I would like in sticking to my routines. I will be Spring Cleaning my routines as well as my house. What changes will you make this season?

Healthy Tip: Make Your Health a Priority
| Time for true confessions. As I mentioned above, things have been a little crazy and I dropped some of my healthy habits for a while. It didn't take long before I found it affecting my ability to, well, live my life. I didn't even realize how much of "my" preventative maintenance I'd been letting slide until a friend point blank asked me when was the last time I had done something for me. I recommitted to making my own health a priority, I know I can't provide the best care for my patients if I'm not at my best so I got back into the habit of taking care of me and in just a few days I can feel and see the improvement. For me of course, part of my preventative maintenance includes MFR self-treatment techniques and while I would be overjoyed to teach, review and help each of you develop your own MFR self-care routine, I urge you to do whatever works for you. Stretch, get daily physical activity, drink enough water. whatever habits help make your body feel and work at its best. Find what works for you and stick to it. You deserve it!

MFR (Myofascial Release) is a form of structural bodywork which combines stretching and pressure to the fascia (connective tissue) and muscles to relieve chronic pain and tension, and allow the muscles to return to their correct position, length and function. This is very slow-paced work, often accompanied by a release of stored memories and emotions. MFR can help promote relaxation and reduce stress. Removing fascial restrictions also aides the body to function at peek efficiency Along with treatments, patients will learn valuable self-treatment techniques and a better sense of being "in" their bodies to help them maintain progress between sessions and take more control of their own good health.
