Greetings!
Happy Spring
St Baldrick's after What a difference a week makes! Just last week after a double local snow storm I was "stuck" in my driveway and had to be pushed out by a neighbor. Today the only snow I can see is under trees or in other shady patches the sun hasn't been able to reach yet. Spring is in the air! What signs of the change in season are happening around you?

Healthy Tip: Try Sea Vegetables to Reduce Hair Loss
Headshot 3
Spring is a time of now growth. New plants are sprouting,  trees and shrubs are budding,in my house, animals are shedding. Some studies show minor hair loss increases in humans as the seasons change as well. This can bring an awareness that hair growth and renewal has slowed down as we age. While genetics play a part in this, many of the sources of hair loss can be due to nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances and/or poor scalp circulation. The good news is many of these can b addressed by adding healthy food choices to our diets.
  • Increase iodine to address an under active thyroid. Adding sea vegetables like kelp, nori, and dulse can give a sluggish thyroid a boost.
  • Increase Vitamin C to boost collagen production for healthier hair strands. Found in citrus fruits, strawberries and peppers.
  • Increase Vitamin E to decrease Breakage- found in almonds, pine nuts, olives and  cooked spinach.
  • try Rosemary oil to boost scalp circulation. Add a few drops of essential oil to that squirt of shampoo in your hand or mix with coconut oil for a great scalp massage.

About MFR
MFR (Myofascial Release) is a form of structural bodywork which combines stretching and pressure to the fascia (connective tissue) and muscles to relieve chronic pain and tension, and allow the muscles to return to their correct position, length and function.  This is very slow-paced work, often accompanied by a release of stored memories and emotions. MFR can help promote relaxation and reduce stress. Removing fascial restrictions also aides the body to function at peek efficiency Along with treatments, patients will learn valuable self-treatment techniques and a better sense of being "in" their bodies to help them maintain progress between sessions and take more control of their own good health.  Link
