Happy Spring Everyone! Yesterday was the spring equinox marking the beginning of the season. That may be hard for some of us here in Upstate NY to believe as it came on the heels of the biggest snow storm of winter. This morning as I write, the snow is still white, covering the landscape, but the sky is a vivid blue and the sun is shining brightly! I find myself itching to break up some soil and plant some seeds. Maybe I need to look around for some pots. What is YOUR favorite way to welcome spring?

Healthy Tip: Take care of Your Feet
| Now that spring has arrived, many of us are getting more active. This increased activity can cause more wear and tear on our feet. Nothing can side rail restarting a fitness program quicker than painful feet: blisters, calluses, plantar fasciitis, sprains or strains etc. In order to minimize the chances of causing foot pain or injury when starting a new fitness program try:
- Stretching before any activity (feet, legs, your whole body)
- Check your shoes for proper fit and any wear and tear. (Ill fitting or worn shoes can cause blisters.)
- Spurge on a pedicure
- Break in new footwear slowly.
- Check your feet daily for signs of blisters or callus formation to nip any problems in the bud.

MFR (Myofascial Release) is a form of structural bodywork which combines stretching and pressure to the fascia (connective tissue) and muscles to relieve chronic pain and tension, and allow the muscles to return to their correct position, length and function. This is very slow-paced work, often accompanied by a release of stored memories and emotions. MFR can help promote relaxation and reduce stress. Removing fascial restrictions also aides the body to function at peek efficiency Along with treatments, patients will learn valuable self-treatment techniques and a better sense of being "in" their bodies to help them maintain progress between sessions and take more control of their own good health.
