Sandler Training Customer Care Tip
Confidence Builders

John Glennon |
To work with customers, either selling or in customer service, you must believe in your products and services, in your company, and most importantly, in yourself. Your skills and your success depend almost entirely on your own self-confidence.
Other people sense whether or not you believe in yourself, and by extension, whether or not you believe in what you're doing. It's called the Doberman Principle - the dog will read those that fear them and become very alert to those people. The belief in yourself is a large part of the customers' feeling persuaded that you can help them or that they should buy your product or service. Building your self-confidence will build your business and your success levels.
How do we build our self-confidence if we recognize a gap? If we believe we aren't as good as others, or we don't deserve to work with them? The Sandler principle of 'Act As If' is a great way to start.

Most people dream of being an entrepreneur, others envy the role, but only few decide to actually live it. Individuals are compelled to build their enterprise to be challenged, to have a job, to give back, and countless more reasons. The 2009 B.C. Statistics show B.C. ranked the highest in Canada in terms of small business per capita. The Okanagan Valley alone consists of 28,897 small businesses. Looking at Kelowna's economic landscape it's clear that entrepreneurship is fully embraced. The Kelowna Chamber and Venture Okanagan (VO) both aim to foster business initiatives which allow for personal growth and economic development.
Venture Okanagan connects entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders to encourage long-term growth and development of new businesses in the Okanagan. Accredited investors and members of Enactus Okanagan College work diligently to hold investment forums in the spring and fall of each year. The forums give opportunity for the great ideas of tomorrow to become a reality.
Sharing similar visions, Kelowna Chamber is pleased to join the VO Community as a Community Sponsor in 2013. Caroline Grover shares "The Kelowna Chamber is delighted to work with Venture Okanagan, and assist in the work of connecting entrepreneurs with a business idea to a mentorship team and possible venture capital. The opportunity for our business community to meet the talented students and faculty at Okanagan College is an important one."
VO is excited to collaborate with Kelowna Chamber to continue the celebration and growth of the small-business economy that benefits all who call the Okanagan home.
