There's more than a week to go before the next major holiday (unless you count National Tap Dance Day) but that hardly means JABBERS are resting. Even if you are spared from proms and graduation ceremonies this year, the end of the school year brings with it a full calendar of class parties and appreciation nights ... and an increasingly long gift list. This week's JAB is all about gifting, whether it's a gift card for Bella (see below), anything-but-a-gift-card for a favorite teacher, or the gift of a king-size bed for someone in need. And while we solve gifting problems, grab a cup of coffee and give yourself a few minutes to ease into this Thursday gently with JustAskBoo Ft. Lauderdale.
Have a great week and Happy JABBING!
- Team JAB

A Realtor Who Can Relate We recently moved from New York, and my young family is looking for a place to settle in Broward. Can you recommend a great realtor, someone who really knows the area homes and can steer us away from a bad investment (like a home filled with Chinese drywall)? We will consider any good neighborhood with access to I-75 or the Sawgrass. Thank you.

Pray for Bella By Team JAB JABBERS across South Florida have closely followed the heartbreaking story of 10-year-old Bella Rodriguez-Torres, who has battled Rhabdomyosarcoma (a very aggressive form of cancer) for six years. We recently learned that Bella is losing her courageous fight, and has been brought home from Miami Children's Hospital to live out her short life on hospice care. In typical JABBER fashion, many are asking how they can help. Here's how: Team JAB is collecting gift cards to Whole Foods, Publix or PetSmart (as you know, Bella has a quite a menagerie!) to forward to Bella's family. Please mail gift cards to JustAskBoo, LLC | For the R-T Family | 1825 Ponce de Leon Blvd., No. 153 | Coral Gables, FL 33134, and kindly provide an email address in the envelope so we may confirm receipt. To read Boo's recent update on Bella's condition, and for more ways to help the the Rodriguez-Torres family, click HERE.

Not Just Another Apple for the Teacher
By Team JAB
Teachers love them, but some parents just can't bring themselves to give away one more iTunes gift card. Team JAB caught up with Caroline Giraud-Sukornyk at her Ft. Lauderdale boutique La Vie en Blanc to provide our readers with creative alternatives guaranteed to earn you an A+ in thoughtful gift giving.
You love receiving your child's art class masterpieces, and it's nice to return the favor. Keepsakes decorated by your child, like these recycled-wood postcards (pictured), show teachers just how much of an inspiration they've been this year, sending a very personal thank you.- There is always an opportunity to upgrade a teacher's desk. Gifts like black and white vintage chalk, recycled-paper colored pencils and a glass "plastic" water bottle, are practical enough for daily use without being ordinary.
- Brave enough the buy jewelry? Your child is. Chunky tortoise-shell style bracelets are universally flattering, a safe bet for a special teacher.
- There's a reason candles are considered the "old standby", but that doesn't mean you can't breathe new life into it by playing with the form. Consider a soy candle in a
beautiful ceramic cup, a wax candle encased in a bell jar, or a porcelain diffuser in the shape of a blooming rose. - Send your own message. This porcelain bee dish (pictured) is a charming reminder of how busy they kept the children all year long (and how much we will miss them!) Or spell it out on a beautiful artisan note card. It's amazing what a hand-written thank you from a parent can mean to a teacher.
