Ducklings Rescued from a Wintry Fate
Female on Brighton's Mill Pond hatches young in late November

Although we're way past "baby season," the Nature Center's Wildlife Infirmary took in a nest of eight ducklings rescued from Brighton's Mill Pond on Friday. Read the heartwarming tale on Douglas Peterson's blog, Nature at the Brighton Millpond in Michigan

It's Nifty to be 50!

On November 29, 1963, the Presbyterian Church's Synod of Michigan purchased 280 acres in Livingston County. Thanks to amazing community support, visionary leadership, and countless volunteer hours, we've had the privilege of serving all creatures, whether they're two-legged or four-legged!

Congratulations to Diamond's Steak and Seafood on Winning the Kili!

Howell Conference & Nature Center's Wild Wonderful Night Gala on Thursday, November 7, 2013 brought out the competitive nature of local chefs vying for the Kili best cuisine award. In addition to the silver and crystal trophy of an eagle in flight, winning restaurant Diamond's Steakhouse and Seafood will enjoy a special appearance by Kili himself on Tuesday, November 26.

"We could tell the chefs were getting geared up for a fierce competition," said Event Coordinator Maria Radke. "They were all talking a big game in the days leading up to A Wild Wonderful Night."
