DESIGN INSPIRATION There are some people that come into your life and you feel as though you've known them forever; Mitch Evans is one of those people. As an avid collector of Japanese maples (and Epimedium....and Gentian....and Cyclamen.....) his garden is bursting at the seams with 'must have' plants. But where others might have ended up with a hodgepodge Mitch has created artistic vignettes with layer upon layer of color, each one drawing you in to appreciate the smallest detail. Perhaps it is the way a maple cascades down a steep slope to give the impression of a waterfall. Or the perfectly placed bench where you can savor the scene. Mitch hasn't just created a garden, this is a sanctuary for the soul. 1. Weathered brick pathways and moss covered steps suggest this garden has been tended for many years and that each carefully clipped topiary has a story to tell.
2. Foliage colors and textures ignite in an ever changing fiery display.
3. And occasionally flowers play a part 4. But sometimes it's the little details which capture the imagination such as a single leaf..... .....or a small container
But you will never leave this garden without your spirits being lifted. Mitch Evans is a designer in Kirkland, WA
