Delco Road Runners Club Mission
A. To promote regular running as a life-long activity that will enhance the physical, mental and emotional well being of people of all ages.
B. To sponsor weekly fun-runs in Delaware County neighborhoods for fun and fellowship.
C. To promote communication and camaraderie among area runners.
D. To facilitate competitive racing and team competition for all interested members.

| Run to the Lights | |
Run to the Lights
Save the date. Once again, Bill and Shirley Weber are hosting the Delco RRC's annual Run to the Lights. Start from the Weber's and join us on a short but fun run to view the Christmas lights on display in Drexel Hill. 6:30 pm on December 19th though we won't start running on time...do we ever? The best part of this may just be the after run activities that take place in the Weber's home. Loads of good food, drink and fun are had every year since they began hosting the event. Please join us for a fun-filled evening. You don't have to run, feel free to join us just for the after-party which actually starts the same time as the run. Weber's address is 720 Shadeland Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Feel free to bring a desert, treat or bottle of wine but certainly not necessary. The DelcoRRC Volkswanderung raised $2,300.00 for the Loaves and Fishes food bank in Prospect Park,Pa. and about 6 boxes of non-perishables for the St. Vincent DePaul Society food bank in Darby, Pa.

| Haverford Reserve Run |
The grounds of the former Haverford State Hospital are now a development with beautiful parks, recreation facilities and trails(many built by Mike Cras, Janet Smith's brother) to run on. This race below is put on by the Haverford Twp. Rec. Dept. and benefits the maintenance of these trails. I plan to run this and hope to see many of you out there supporting these trails.

Tyler Arboretum 10K Trail Race
Saturday, April 06, 2013 9AM
10K Trail Race - This race was named one of the Philadelphia area's best races by Philadelphia Magazine's BE WELL PHILLY. Presented by Delco RRC, the race is a USATF Mid-Atlantic Off Road GP event. The entry fee is $30 before March 9, and $35 afterwards, until the field is filled. All runners will receive a commemorative premium. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers overall, and also to the top three male and female finishers in 10-year age brackets. Results will be posted on www.DelcoRRC.com. Runners can register online at www.tylertrailrun.com or with an application from Delcorrc.com. Applications are also available at race sponsor The Running Place in Newtown Square and by contacting John Greenstine, (484) 478-1576 and email TylerTrailRun@yahoo.com.

Looking for a little adventure in your own backyard? Join us for. This scenic will take you through 3 miles of beautiful trails nestled in Community Park at Haverford Reserve. The route is challenging for all levels- first time trail runners and those with experience. Or register for our fun 1 mile winter walk.
A hot lunch will be served immediately following the race in the new CREC. Proceeds go to maintaining the trails at Haverford Reserve.

The 35th Annual Brian's Run will take place on Sunday, December 2nd at 1:00 pm at the West Chester Henderson High School.
The race is a 5 miler, through West Chester.
The first 1000 runners get a long sleeve A4 Tech T shirt. Great cash to the top 5 runners and age group winners.
All race proceeds go to support Homes for Our Troops, a charity which makes returning veterans who were paralyzed while serving out country homes handicap accessible.
Come out and support a great cause at a great race-a West Chester classic!!!

Super Sunday - December 2
Join us for Super Sunday events this coming week. The morning begins at 10 AM with a Fun Run/Walk prediction style with 3- or 5-mile options! Predict your finish time for your distance and win a prize if your actual time is closest to your predicted one. A pair of shoes is the Grand Prize; a TRP shirt and TRP winter hat round out the winning prizes. Coach Mark Kotarski, M.Ed., CES, will offer one-on-one consultations to answer your training questions from 11 AM to 12 NOON. Mark has expertise in using the Garmin GPS watches and the Training Peaks website. You can book at time slot with Mark or just stop in and chat with him. For a time slot, send an e-mail to therunningplace@gmail.com. The store will be open from 11AM - 4 PM with hourly raffles and special sales. We hope to see you!
Book Signing
The Runner's World Big Book of Marathon and Half-Marathon Training was written (in part) by local runner Jen Van Allen who is also a Special Projects Editor for Runner's World magazine. The book offers winning strategies, inspiring stories, and training tools. Jen will sign copies of Thursday, Dec. 13th at the store from 6:30-8 pm. Stop by for a signed book and to chat with Jen. Refreshments will be served.
