| Delco RRC Update | 11/7/2012 |
Delco Road Runners Club Mission
A. To promote regular running as a life-long activity that will enhance the physical, mental and emotional well being of people of all ages.
B. To sponsor weekly fun-runs in Delaware County neighborhoods for fun and fellowship.
C. To promote communication and camaraderie among area runners.
D. To facilitate competitive racing and team competition for all interested members.

| VOLKSWANDERUNG | |
The DelcoRRC Volkswanderung will be on Nov. 22 Thanksgiving Day at Pavillion 8, by the horse stables at Ridley Creek State Park at 8 am for registration and 9am for the Prediction Pie Run and Walk, Run, Bike Event. there will be pies for prizes. The course is the 4.3 mile Multi Use Trail You can only register the day of the event. 15.00 per person or 30.00 per family. There will be mugs for the give away to all who register. You can bring canned goods in addition to entry fee. There will be refreshment after the event.
Also I NEED PIE BAKERS! Please let me know if you can make and bring a pie. We love homemade but will accept anything. The number of pies we have are the number of prizes we give out in the Prediction Run.

Also looking for a couple of other positions to be filled. The club is looking for someone to maintain and update the club website and to check the club email on a frequent basis and forward emails to who needs them and respond to inquiries.

Philly Marathon Water stop |

The marathon is allowing up to an additional 3000 runners in that were registered for the NYC Marathon |

With the Philadelphia marathon only a few weeks away, we are still short of the 100 volunteers we need to run our water stop. Not only can you volunteer, but you can bring a friend, family member, co-worker, or some of each to join you. The marathon is Sunday, November 18. We need volunteers from early morning until early afternoon.

| Run for the Lights | |
This year's Run for the Lights Party at the Weber's house will be 12/19/12.
The Weber's do a great job with this event. Certainly one of those do not miss events.

Hi Mike,
You may have seen this in the Daily Times this week, but my adopted daughter, Katie Balmer, who ran with us old Delaware County Road Runners thru the brutal heat that was the hallmark of the summer of 2012 (most notably with both Mike Nichols and Chris McGoldrick and his his double stroller handicap), was named this past Wednesday to Second-Team All-Centennial Conference cross country honors!!! Katie is a Sophmore for the Haverford College Cross Country Team, "The Fords" also nicknamed the "Bees". Her coach, Fran Rizzo, was named coach of the year. Katie led Haverford to a runner-up finish at the Centennial Conference Championship on October 27. Her next big event will be the NCAA Mideast Regional Nov. 10 and the NCAA D-III Championship is Nov. 17. Ranked 27th nationally in the preseason, the Fords are now ranked No. 13. The Delco difference? Maybe. It can't be ruled out, certainly.
After all this great news, I do not think it unreasonable that Katie arrange for a beverage stop outside her dorm for the old road runners, conveniently located along our Thursday night course, do you?
(Trivia- the girls team is called the "Bees", what is the boy's team called?)
