Praxair, the leading supplier of liquid hydrogen to the United States, has completed the purchase of 10 acres in the Lockport Industrial Park. The Praxair site will be on the south side of Enterprise Drive at the corner of Junction Road. The site is directly across from the Yahoo! Northeast Regional Datacenter in the 200 acre business park. The sale of the parcel was originally authorized by the Lockport Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors in October, 2014. Last year, Praxair announced a $38.7 million expansion if its Technology Center in the Town of Tonawanda and also has a $12.4 million project underway at its Niagara Falls manufacturing facility. The Town of Lockport will be home to a new microbrewery by the fall of 2015. New York Beer Project will open a 16,400 SF brewery and restaurant at the intersection of South Transit Road and Tonawanda Creek Road, north of Millersport Highway. Owners Kevin and Kelly Krupski recently acquired the site and will manage the operation. New York Beer Project joins Woodcock Brothers in Wilson and Barker Brewery in Barker as the first of a growing number of microbreweries in Niagara County.
