Transit North News is published by the Town of Lockport Economic Development Department in order to keep businesses located on Lockport's Transit Road Corridor informed about business developments and public improvements which may impact their operations. Transit North encompasses the section of NY 78 within Niagara County, from Millersport Highway to the Erie Canal.

Welcome to Transit North

The Town of Lockport will install gateway signage at the northwest and northeast corners of the Transit Road and Robinson Road (NY 78 & NY 93) intersection. The attractive back-lit signs will welcome motorists to the Transit Road business corridor. Last summer, the Town planted 36 trees on the west side of Transit Road between Robinson Road and Hamm Road; future plans call for the planting of roadside floral beds.

Transit Road, in the vicinity of Millersport Highway, will continue its transformation into a prestige retail center this spring with the construction of the New York Beer Project Microbrewery. The 16,400 square foot brewery and gastropub, which is expected to be completed by October, will be located at the intersection of South Transit Road and Tonawanda Creek Road.
