Lockport Business Opportunities

McGuire Development has agreed to construct a 10,000 SF multi-tenant facility on Enterprise Drive in the Lockport Industrial Park. McGuire, owners of Airport Commerce Park in Cheektowaga and several other commercial developments in the Erie-Niagara region, will purchase a 3 acre parcel on the south side of Enterprise Drive near the intersection with Crown Drive. The project is being jointly undertaken by McGuire along with R&P Oak Hill Development and Wendel Companies, and will feature flex space and multiple loading docks with overhead doors. The building is being designed to enable the developer to expand it modularly to accommodate tenant interest.

Yahoo! Acquires
Additional Land

Internet giant Yahoo! has purchased a 12 acre site in the Lockport Industrial Park for future expansion of its Northeast Datacenter; no date or other details have been announced for the expansion. Yahoo! currently operates a 190,000 SF facility in the Lockport Industrial Park; the additional acreage will allow Yahoo! to expand its footprint from 30 to 42 acres. There are currently 75 employees at the Lockport site, including Facilities Operating Engineers, Site Operations Technicians and Operations Center Technicians.

Introl Design Begins Construction

Construction has begun on the future home of Introl Design in the Lockport Industrial Park. Introl Design, who is a manufacturer of motion control devices, is constructing a 12,000 square foot facility. The new building will be at the north end of the IDA Park Drive by the Upper Mountain entrance to the industrial park. Having been in business for over 40 years, Introl Design had outgrown its facility at 48 North Street in Lockport. In addition to relocating its current 15 person workforce, Introl will have the capacity to add another 6 jobs at the conclusion of the project.

Custom Laser Expands

6747 Akron Road

Custom Laser, a specialty materials fabricator providing laser cutting, welding, converting and engraving services, has purchased the former Franbilt facility, located at 6747 Akron Road in the Town of Lockport. Custom Laser will relocate its business operations to the 42,800 SF complex from its current 24,000 SF facilities at 4903 - 4907 IDA Park Drive in the Lockport Industrial Park. The move will enable Custom Laser to acquire additional equipment and to consolidate its operations from three buildings to one structure.
