SETTLE UNRESOLVED MATTERS
|
"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the alter. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift."
Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV)
Today's Focus: Spiritual Life
After reviewing Matthew 5:23-24, we can surmise that If we remember someone has something against us and we refuse to deal with it, nothing we do or say will count in Kingdom work. God always seeks restoration and reconciliation and commands us to look past what seems like a logical reaction and be obedient in working through the matter. Make a list of the sins in your life that need the forgiveness of God. Ask God to forgive you for each one. If you have sinned against someone else, be willing to take the first step of reconciliation. And, if someone has sinned against you, forgive them and go to them in love, seeking restoration.
Today's Thought: Be intentional about settling unresolved matters this week.
Today's Prayer: "Father, I am tired of holding on to the pain in my life. Help me to forgive those who have hurt me and open to door to reconciliation for those I have hurt."
