Are you trying to keep your family safe from the intruders on the outside, but ignoring the enemy that is in the house? Family means "father's house." Fathers, you have to watch and pray. Matthew 13:25 says that the enemy comes in when we are unaware. In addition to prayer, spend valuable time with your family and look for ways to meet their needs. There may be times when you have to provide words of affirmation. At other times, kind and loving discipline is needed. If you ask Him, God will give you wisdom to strengthen the walls of protection to keep your family from the devices of the enemy. Speak the Word over them and declare that no weapon formed against your family will prosper (Is. 54:17).
