Today's Focus: Spiritual Life
Have you ever tried to take a walk on a warm summer afternoon only to be greeted by swarms of tiny gnats or mosquitoes? Their bites can be downright annoying. It may be difficult to enjoy your time outdoors because you find yourself swatting and slapping at the worrisome little insects. Their pesky behavior is similar to how the devil tries to harass and frustrate you when you want to spend time with God. He will send distractions that are designed to annoy and aggravate you. Jesus commanded the devil to get behind Him when he tried to get Him off course. Understand that Satan can only win if you give place to him. Do not allow him to get you off course.
Today's Thought: When you tolerate nonsense, you will get more of it.
Today's Prayer: "LORD, help me to be intentional about avoiding the distractions that take me off course."
