"But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." - James 1:22 (KJV)
Today's Focus: Relationships
In John 15:5, Jesus tells us that He is the vine, we are the branches, and if we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit. So what fruit is your branch bearing? Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are the fruits of the spirit, and the things that help us cultivate and maintain strong relationships. Hate is erased when you extend the branch of love. Deceit is defeated when you extend the branch of faithfulness. Sadness is healed when you extend the branch of joy. Although it can be difficult at times, sowing seeds in your relationship that bear the fruit of the spirit, is the act of extending your branch to others. So don't bend under the pressure that relationships can bring; bear the burden and reap the harvest. Remember, you're connected to the true vine and in Him you can do all things that He has destined you to do.
Today's Thought: Jesus is the vine, I am the branch, and in Him I will bear much fruit.
Today's Prayer: "Lord, even when it is difficult, please help me to extend branches using the fruit of the spirit."
