Summer Teacher Workshops 

FAITC's summer teacher workshops are scheduled for June 10 in Highlands County and June 12 in Miami-Dade County. Farm tours will follow in the afternoon after the morning workshop. Stay tuned later this spring for more information.

  
Volunteer Grants Due March 14
   Farm Bureau offices, Extension offices, non-profit organizations and governmental agencies that have a project that educates K-12 students about the source of their food, fiber and fuel are eligible for Florida Agriculture in the Classroom's Volunteer Grants.  How Sweet It Is: Scholarships Available for Conference
  Florida K-12 teachers interested in attending the 2014 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference "The Sweet Story of Agriculture" in Hershey PA in June can apply for scholarships. CHS is offering $380 scholarships to cover teachers' registration for the conference. Previous recipients can apply again for a scholarship. The deadline to apply is March 15. Read for Florida Agriculture
Literacy Day April 29
Florida Farms at School    Florida teachers and agriculture industry volunteers who want to read a fun, rhyming book about Florida farms to elementary students are encouraged to participate in Florida Agriculture Literacy Day April 29. This year's book, Florida Farms at School, features school gardens, Agriculture in the Classroom, 4-H, FFA, Farm to School and other programs that help educate elementary students about Florida agriculture. The book, teacher resources, bookmarks and stickers are provided to volunteer readers free of charge. To learn more Click Here

 Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Gainesville funded by sales of the agriculture specialty license plate called the 'Ag Tag.' To learn more about the Ag Tag
