MPV's Letter from the United Nations
|
Dear Friends of MPV,
2013 has been an incredible year!
MPV was invited to the White House iftar where we met with the President, Susan Rice, and many other advisors of the Obama administration for a policy briefing. We expanded MPV chapters to include New York, Chicago, Chile and Australia. We continued to champion for freedom of expression, women's rights, LGBTQ rights, and critical thinking.
Our year ended with the fantastic news of our acceptance as a United Nations affiliated NGO, which means we will not only be a more effective voice for our grassroots work, but we will also be able to sit on various committees to advance a progressive interpretation of Islam at the international level!
The goals accomplished in 2013 and the position MPV secured at the U.N. were awesome feats. We were able to do so with a small volunteer organization. Think of what MPV could do with more!
