MPV-Austrailia

MPV Australia is one of the newer chapters of MPV International. Since starting in May 2013 MPV Australia is progressing with baby steps towards building a progressive Muslim community in Australia.

During the last few months we have been engaging with one person at a time to discuss and promote progressive values. We must admit that the task has not been easy as often people find it difficult to think or accept values that are beyond their mental box.

Our future plan includes registering MPV Australia before June 2014 and developing a website.

MPV-Ummah Canada at Capital Pride March

 MPV-Ummah Canada

  • 4th Annual Iftar Dinner
  • Marched in Capital Pride in Ottawa
  • Lent a hand to our family at El-Tawhid Unity Mosque by campaigning for funds as a fiscal sponsor for its 10th Annual Salaam Peace Iftar Dinner - the biggest meet up of the Toronto chapter yet!
  • Multi-Faith Housing Initiative an interfaith effort that works to ensure affordable housing for all
  • Continued participants in interfaith dialog at Faith House Ottawa
  • Canadians Tarek Loubani and John Greyson have been imprisoned in Egypt for the past nineteen days without charge and must be freed immediately. Here is a petition.
  • We remain concerned about Saudi activists Wajeha Al-Huwaider and Fawzia Al-Oyouni, who filed an appeal last month against their conviction of takhbib in Saudi Arabia - which arose from their assistance of our fellow Montreal sister, Nathalie Morin, whom we have been working to free from that country, with her children, for the past three years.
