July 3, 2016 -14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
"Get Moving!"
  
So the pastor asked each of his three deacons, "What do you want them to say about you when you're lying in your casket?" The first said, "I was a wonderful husband, great spiritual leader and good family man." The second deacon said, "He was a wonderful teacher and a servant of God who made a positive difference in people's lives." The third deacon said, "Look, he's moving!"
 
In Sunday's Gospel story, Jesus tells his disciples to  get moving and put their faith into action.  As we celebrate the 4th of July this weekend, we honor our civic leaders who had the good sense not only to talk, but to act also.
