The City of St. Cloud, Public Services Section, will be conducting weekly meetings with the businesses. Watch for email notices.
The meetings will be held immediately prior to the construction progress meeting and will address items such as, but not limited to, scope of project, construction schedule, access for businesses, special construction related items, key contacts and future meeting schedule. These weekly meetings will be held at City Hall.
Construction is anticipated to start the first week of June with a completion date of 9.15.17. |
The Adopt-A-Planter Program, led by DTC Board member Penny White, is under way. We expect all 52 planters to be adopted again by businesses that give money to pay for the flowers and agree to water them regularly. This partnership has been so successful and certainly make Downtown a more pleasant and welcoming environment for our employees and visitors.
The City of St. Cloud is also installing new light posts that include heavy-duty hangers that will allow for hanging flower baskets. Scott Warzecha and Netgain have stepped up to sponsor baskets (with water reservoirs). We are negotiating on the price of the baskets and flowers and expect to hang as many as possible in the very near future. They will look absolutely gorgeous along Germain!
We'll include a list of all of the Adopt-A-Planter participants next week. You'll see several volunteers filling the pots with fresh soil and flowers. New mulch will be added around the tree rings as well.
Thanks to the City for their help and to Capital One employees for cleaning out the pots and tree rings. |

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 31st at 8:30 am at the DTC office at 501 W. St. Germain Street. All Downtown businesses and DTC members are welcome to join in the discussion and planning meetings. |

The magazine polls its readers annually to find out what they consider the best places, people and things in Minnesota. The area's central location, big-city amenities and small-town feel were cited as reasons St. Cloud came out on top.
