Working for Downtown
So many things going on in Downtown and the DTC.  Here is a sampling of some things we are working on currently:
  • Serve on the City's Comp Plan Advisory Committee (includes a Division Street Corridor and Downtown Subarea Plans).
  • Started planning for the Winter Nights & Lights Parade
  • Work with the City on the Downtown video as part of their branding campaign
  • Assist members with upcoming special events 
  • Partner with members and the City to improve the raised tree rings
  • Fargo's Downtown Learning Tour being planned
  • Business recruitment and retention calls
  • Membership recruitment and retention calls
  • Submit a proposal to create a Mississippi River Boardwalk (to connect the new extension to the Hospital)
  • Participate in Summertime by George
  • etc. 

Thank you to all of our members, sponsors, partners and volunteers for helping us continue to improve our Downtown.   

First Half 2015 by the Numbers (fyi)
  • $2,961,408 has been invested in Downtown the first half of 2015
  • 62 business inquiries
  • 150 members, 10 new members
  • 10 new businesses + 4 pending
  • 3 business expansions
The DTC is the only organization with the sole purpose of working for the betterment of Downtown.  If you are not a member, consider joining.  The more members we have, the more we can accomplish.

Central MN Community Foundation Celebrates 30th Anniversary
The CMCF has been connecting people and resources to build a better community since 1985.  With more than 600 funds totaling over $100 million, the Foundation partners with businesses, individuals and nonprofit agencies to have a lasting impact in Central Minnesota.  Congratulations and thank you. 

 

Small Business Saturday -- Start Planning Now

Let's rally together by participating in Small Business Saturday by becoming a Neighborhood ChampionAs a member of the International Downtown Association, we can become a Neighborhood Champion by providing some information about ourselves, our local businesses that will be engaged and our plans for the day.  We must sign up by September 30th.  If you want to take part, send an email to Pegg at pegg@stclouddowntown.com no later than 9/30.  Thank you.
