Monday Morning Memo

Downtown Housing!!!!!
We're very optimistic about the market-rate loft housing condominiums.  Construction is projected to begin late this summer with completion in the fall of 2016.

These lofts will provide St. Cloud with a kind of residential housing option that is not available anywhere in the city of St. Cloud or surrounding area.  When finished, the new residents living in Downtown will enjoy the urban style of living; walk, bike or take public transportation to and from work.  If parking is needed, there will be 19 spaces within the complex and additional parking in the new ramp across the (new and improved) alley.

Picture this:
  • 46 units consisting of 2 studios, 37 one-bedroom and 7 two-bedroom lofts.
  • Open and spacious floor plans with hardwood floors and large glass patio doors and windows
  • 11 foot high ceilings with exposed and painted ceiling trusses and duct work
  • Stainless steel kitchen appliances and clothes washer/dryer
  • Secure wireless throughout
  • Keyless/secure (fob style) exterior entrances
  • Surveillance cameras throughout all public areas
  • Rooftop terrace featuring covered grilling area, gas fire pit, lounge seating, activity/game area, community garden and architectural accent lighting in a secure/fenced area

Prices range from $165,000 - $280,000.  Presales have started.  Email Rod Lindquist to reserve your loft today.

Road Closure for New Ramp Starts April 13
Introducing, Main Street Max
Beginning Monday, April 13th, 5th Avenue North (between W. St. Germain Street and 1st St. N.) will be closed until further notice (likely 12-18 months).  Detours will be posted.

While this is an inconvenience for some, we are ecstatic that a new parking ramp will be constructed.  Thank you for your patience.  Call Pegg at 257-8600 with any concerns, issues and suggestions.

Main Street Max will soon be our helpful guide to help our Downtown guests and employees better navigate.
Spring Clean Up Date Set
Save the date -- Thursday, May 7th.
The DTC coordinates a Spring Downtown Cleanup each year.  Volunteers spiff up the Downtown by picking up garbage, weeding and cleaning out the planters (we'll be placing greenery and flowers early June in all of the planters).

The cleanup will be in and around a 30-block area within the Downtown core, behind the convention center along the trail and the Eastside.  We'll focus on the sidewalks and around the parking lots.

Business owners and staff together with the City all join in the cleanup.  There will be 2 shifts:
9 am - noon  (lunch provided at noon after shift)
1 pm - 4pm   (lunch provided at noon prior to shift)

Please bring gloves and small shovels.  We will have garbage bags.
Volunteers for is annual event and help beautify our Downtown.

Every morning in European cities you will see property and business owners sweeping the sidewalks prior to opening their doors.  We hope that all of the Downtown businesses will take it upon themselves to do this daily, but particularly on May7th.
Meet-n-Greet

A huge thank you goes out to the SCSU Welcome Center for hosting the April DTC Meet-N-Greet.  Guests had a tour of the facility which offers training and event space.  Continuing Studies is housed in the Center, and can tailor your business training to meet all of your needs.  Sodexo catered the food; we learned that Sodexo caters off campus as well.  For more information, contact Kim Loesch.

Up next to host is Bumbledee's.  See you on May 14th for the next DTC Meet-n-Greet.
