Imaging what our commu7nity can be enlivens the people who live, work and serve within it.  But the most rewarding part comes when we see those dreams happen.

On February 11, the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, along with the Initiative Foundation, Times Media and the Morgan Family Foundation, invite you to hear the results AND NEXT STEPS for the Greater St. Cloud area.

What do you want to see in our future?  Share your ideas.  Get engaged.  Participate.  Be part of the conversation.

Brainstorming new opportunity with the Times
Corey Schueller has been working with our organization to discuss new opportunities to promote the Downtown on a more consistent basis and also provide affordable advertising opportunities for our members.  We will be hosting two brainstorming sessions on Thursday, February 12th; the first at 8:00 am and the second at 3:30 pm at the DTC office in the conference room.  Corey and Pegg would like to share their ideas and listen to what Downtown businesses would like to see as well.

Please RSVP to Pegg if you plan to attend.

Leighton started by renovating their lower level space in the "KCLD Mall" at 619 W. St. Germain Street.  They are renovating the main level, which also looks amazing.  There are two spaces available for retail or office; one is 504 SF and the other is 364 SF.  Leighton will also help with radio advertising with a signed lease.  For more information, contact Kathy Leighton Carton at 251-1450.

Carlson Advisors, LLP, certified accounting firm in St. Cloud, has merged with Spaniol & Good LTD located in Sartell. John Spaniol emphasized his primary goal was to identify a business partner sharing the same exemplary values with respect to client service demonstrated by his firm over the last 35 years and was pleased to find these traits with Carlson Advisors.

New Parking Ramp
A huge thank you goes out to Steve Lawrence and Dan Legatt with the City of St. Cloud for joining Pegg to visit businesses along 5th Avenue and on the 500 block of Germain.  We wanted to visit the business and property owners to be sure all aware that construction will begin April 1st.

One block north of Germain on 5th Avenue will be closed for a period of 12-16 months.  We are developing a mitigation plan, communications plan and coming up with some special promotions to lessen the impact from the construction.

Downtown -- On The Grow!
But in the name of progress, it will have an impact on some businesses.  MANY roads lead into Downtown so we'll ask that you continue to do business downtown.  Enjoy a front row seat to the greater changes coming to St. Cloud.  Plans include adding 400 parking stalls and adding more handicap accessible parking adjacent to the River's Edge Convention Center.

We will continue to keep you informed via the Monday Morning Memo.  We have another distribution list for specific communications during the construction.  If you want to get on this special list, email Pegg.  If you or your customers park in the Timber Lot (behind Mexican Village), we will need to work with the City to arrange for different parking options.

For ideas and concerns regarding the new parking ramp, contact Pegg or Steve (Public Services at 650-2900).
