Foundation Building Year
Over the past several months, there has been a hustle and bustle here at the Dream Center offices. We have many new volunteers, new financial partners and we're bringing on new staff. We rent two offices spaces at the Mary Brown Center and one office is packed with desks for the new staff we're preparing for. We're so excited about what God is building!
We are calling this year our "Foundation Building Year." As I was seeking God a few months ago about the direction that God would have us go in this next year, I felt His prompting that we needed to build a strong and healthy foundation for the ministry of the DREAM Center. At that moment, I realized that if we're going to do all that God had called us to do, it would only happen if we had a strong and healthy foundation to build this DREAM upon.
As our faithful partners, I'm excited to share with you our vision and plans for this "Foundation Building Year."
Vision Statement for the Foundation Building Year: We will take at least one year to build a strong and healthy foundation for the Dream Center. By doing this, we will be well equipped to INVEST in the city of East St. Louis and the lives of the young people that God has placed into our care.
OUR ONE YEAR PLAN
RAISE UP A TEAM
1. Outreach and Office Volunteers: Our goal is to have a strong volunteer base of 30 people, we currently have 24 volunteers.
2. Staff and Interns
3. Outreach Leaders 4. Board of Directors: Strengthen and add to the current team.
RAISE AWARENESS 1. Dream Center Advocates: Our goal is to have a large group of people who will be advocates for the Dream Center through social media. 2. East St. Louis Advocates: Our vision is to have a large group of people who will be a positive voice for the city, by speaking well of East St. Louis (Proverbs 11:11 Msg).· 3. Market the Dream Center through various avenues: Web site, Blog, Social Media, Printed Materials
Share our Facebook Page with a Friend!
RAISE FUNDS
1. Yearly Budget: $85,000 to meet our financial goal for 2013. So far, we have reached 50% of this goal!
2. Monthly Partners: Individuals, Churches, Businesses
3. Fundraisers: Led and hosted by partners on behalf of the DREAM Center 4. Collect: Food and Supply Items (from youth groups, businesses, individuals)
We Invite You to Be a Part!
The East St. Louis DREAM Center is God's DREAM and He has called us to carry it out, but we can't do this by ourselves. We need people like you who will put hands and feet to God's DREAM. Would you consider being a part of this three- fold vision, either by volunteering, raising awareness or giving financially?
We can't imagine doing this without you on our TEAM!
LOVING East St. Louis,
Rachel and the DREAM Center Team

Encouragement: Staying at Our Post
We spend a lot of time planting seed and "plowing the ground" of the hearts of people we minister to. We patiently wait to see these hearts turn to Jesus and change the way they're living. In the waiting time, it can get discouraging, but this verse recently encouraged me. I pray that it ministers to you in a specific area of your life.
Stay at your post, someone's future could depend on it.
2 Corinthians 6, The Message
People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswervingly . . . in hard times, tough times, bad times; working hard, working late, working without eating; with pure heart, clear head, steady hand; in gentleness, holiness, and honest love; ignored by the world, but recognized by God..
